London Stadium: an unforgettable experience

Nowadays, the London club of West Ham United plays all its home matches in the London Stadium. With its capacity of 60,000, it's one of England's biggest stadiums. The stadium retrieved the name London Stadium, but it’s more generally known as the Olympic Stadium. The reason the stadium is called this way is that the stadium was especially built for the Olympic Games of 2012. Who would become the new tenant?

It wasn't known yet who would become the new tenant of the stadium after the Olympic Games had taken place. The Olympic Park Legacy Company set up five requirements the next tenants had to meet in the first tenancy process. Many sports associations were interested in leasing the Olympic Stadium, but there were only two bidders: AEG and Tottenham hotspur, and Newham Council and West Ham United. The Olympic Park Legacy Company unanimously decided that Newham Council and West Ham United had the best shot at becoming the future tenants, but the procedure wasn’t done yet.
